Cubbing makes us cooler than ever before!

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing. We spoke to Kgatliso Moloto (7) from 1st Ikageng Cub Pack in the North West Scouting Region about playing, learning and laughing.

Kgatliso MolotoSSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is fun because I do fun things with my Pack like playing together and learning things together.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was when I first camped and shared a tent with my Cub friends.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate outdoors was banana bread cooked on an outdoor fire.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge was when I learned how to do the grand howl but now I love it!

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place I visited was the heritage site where I learned about the history of the site.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learned the jungle book and how to respect other people.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
I helped cleaning the church and planted our flowers there.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum the Cub promise and about the jungle book movie.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is someone who loves his Cubs and play games with them.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
He is special because he loves to buy us nice things and shows us beautiful places.
