Cubbing rocks because you get dirty!

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing worldwide. In South Africa we are celebrating through Group, District, Regional and National events. But, if we really want to know why Cubbing Rocks, who better to ask than the Cubs themselves….

We spoke to Megan Botha (11) from 6th Benoni Cub Pack in Gauteng.

I like Cubbing because you learn lots of fun stuff.

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was getting my interest badges.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate was banana split.

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge at Cubs was finding Easter eggs.

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place was at a camp.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learnt how to do knots, how to get badges and how to cook.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We were planting trees to help the environment.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum some knots.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is always funny.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because she is so kind and a little bit strict.
