The Senior Scout Adventure Magaliesberg (SSAM) will take place from 7-11 January 2026 and will be based at Maretlwane Experience, near Mooinooi. This event will be similar to the successful 2022 event and will include Hiking, Trail camping, Water activities, Rock climbing, Ecology, and lots of swimming.

The event is open to all Scouts over 14.5 years as at the start of the event (i.e. birthday before 7 July 2011). Patrols of 10 Scouts + 1 adult Patrol Ranger will be created by the event organisers.
The costs are:
- R1300.00 Scouts and adult Patrol Rangers
- R1700.00 Staff (accommodation in shared cabins)
- R1300.00 Staff (camping)

- Please provide an indication of how many Scouts your Troop will send, and your identified Adult Patrol Ranger, by filling in this Expression of Interest form (Closing Date 15 November 2025):

After submitting your Application, you will be provided with a unique SSAM ID number which you can use as a reference for payment.
- An indemnity form will be sent out after Applications have been received.
- SSAM still has some vacancies for adult Staff to assist with the Water Activities and Rock Climbing Bases. Please submit the same Application form as above if you wish to assist in this way.
Conservation rules in Magaliesberg limit the number of participants. This event has a maximum capacity of 80 Scouts. Do not delay in submitting your Application.
As a reminder, the following dates are relevant:
- 15 November 2025 – Closing date for your Expression of Interest form
- 30 November 2025 – Closing date for submission of Application form and payment
- 7-11 January 2026 – Event runs
