WWF SA’s Global Children’s Designathon

As a part of the Earth Hour Initiative, WWF South Africa is hosting a Global Children’s Designathon on Saturday the 25th of March at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. During this event children aged 8-12 will learn about biodiversity: what it is, what the main causes of the loss in biodiversity are and how it affects the planet and the future of all living things.

There will be an initial learning session (run by no other than Angus Burns), after which the children will imagine and draw up sustainable solutions around this year’s theme, and then build prototypes to present to other children in participating countries via a live connection, to an expert panel, and a wider audience (parents).

WWF SA has extended an invitation to Cubs and Scouts from Johannesburg to participate. Spots are limited to 40 children and will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. To register, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/jKnL1tHpJSbLWYY18. Applications close on Monday the 13th of March 2023.

If you are selected to participate, you will be contacted by a member of the WWF SA team directly for concrete arrangements.
