By being a Cub I learnt to believe in myself!

The days are counting down fast to Akela 2016! We are still talking to Cubs nationwide about their Cubbing adventure and how important Akelas are in their lives. We spoke to Luke Nicol (9) from 1st Table View Cub Pack in the Western Cape.

Luke1SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
I love camps, playing fun games and I also love wearing my uniform. That is why Cubbing is so much fun!

SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was making my first camp fire.

SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate outdoors was a leaf!

SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
Climbing across a plank  …

SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place we went to was Hawequas, our Scout Ranch in Wellington.

SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
By being a Cub I learnt to be honest,  to believe in myself and to keep promises.

SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We helped the old wolves wash the dishes. Other than that we collected food for the less fortunate.

SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum that monkey blood is not good for you.

SSA: What makes a good Akela?
Being trustworthy, believing in the Cubs and helping when it is needed makes a good Akela.

SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because she is my friend’s mom. She is awesome and always funny!

Cubbing Rocks because … we go on AWESOME camps with amazing views and we learn useful things.
