Child Protection Week 2016

SCOUTS South Africa would like to remind our members, parents and partners of the importance we place on keeping our children and youth safe.

As an organisation we take great care to ensure that our adult and young members are aware of our child protection policies and the avenues open to them for raising complaints or concerns. With Child Protection Week coming to a close, we want to remind our members of the policies, procedures and steps that are in place.

Any allegation, when brought to the Chief Executive Officer’s or Chief Commissioner’s attention, is immediately addressed. The allegations are then reported to the relevant authorities for legal investigation and action as merited. The specifics of the process that is followed is laid out in SCOUTS South Africa’s Child Protection Policy that sets out in detail the steps to be taken and an info graphic was designed to facilitate the reporting process for our members. It is readily available in the members’ library on www.scouts.org.za.
