Gauteng Region is pleased to inform you that we will be running a PLTC course from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 March 2023 at Gilwell Scouting Centre in Florida Lake, Johannesburg.

Please be aware that PLTC will only run if there are a sufficient number of participant and staff applications.

The PLTC is designed to provide intermediate Patrol Leader training to PLs and APLs and is an optional requirement for First Class in the Scout Programme.

PLTC should ideally be attended by PLs and APLs who are about to or have just embarked on their First Class. The course focuses on leadership opportunities and experiences, as well as camp, hike and project planning, among other skills and theory.

Please be aware that this course is aimed at 14 to 17 year old Scouts who have completed the Discoverer Personal Development Theme badge and are working towards their First Class.

Please note that space is limited to 32 participants and booking works on a first come first served basis. If any part of the application or consent form is not completed, or proof of payment is not provided, the application cannot be processed.

Places on course cannot be reserved and will only be processed with fully completed applications.

If you are booked and cannot make it, please notify us immediately so that your spot can be given to the next Scout in line.

If you do not receive an email confirming your place on course, then you are not on course. Please do not arrive on Friday 24 March 2023 without receiving the confirmation email.

In alignment with recent Government regulations, SCOUTS South Africa has decided to lift all current Covid-19 restrictions. This means that masks are no longer mandatory but may be worn if a person prefers to wear one.
Likewise, there will also be no more occupancy restrictions for campsites and indoor or outdoor gatherings and events.

We still ask that where possible, participants bring their own tent as we cannot guarantee scouts from the same district/troop will be in the same patrol.
