Scouts Gauteng has three beautiful campsites around the province. See below for your closest campsite.

 

 

Arrowe Park, Benoni

Large 20 Acre campsite with kitchen, open-air chapel and ample camping area, indoor sleeping accommodation for 16. Home of Gauteng KonTiki, with good access to Homestead Lake for swimming, rafting and other water activities

Camp Delta, Delta Park, Randburg

A 10-acre sloping Scouting camp ground in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, ideal for Patrol and Troop camps. Camp Delta is also open to non-scouting groups for camping events. It adjoins the Girl Guide’s Trefoil Park, Delta municipal park and the Florence Bloom bird sanctuary in the northern Johannesburg suburbs. It is mostly an open area of mown veld grass.

The site is set in the beautiful 100ha Delta Park, north of the city of Johannesburg, and is a twenty minute drive (approx. 11km) from the city centre.

The camp is approximately 1.3 km from a daily bus and taxi route.

Gilwell, Albertina Sisulu Rd, Florida

Gilwell is the official Training Centre for the Gauteng Region. Since 1922 Scout Leaders and Scouts have been trained here and enjoyed good fun and comradeship over the weekends, as Scouts and Scouters will continue to do in the future.

The park-like grounds of 3 hectares is situated on the south west corner of Florida Lake, 16 km from Johannesburg.

Whilst Gilwell is the official training centre, Scouts and Cubs are also welcome to camp here.

Old Scouts and friends are welcome to visit Gilwell at any time and are asked to contact the Warden on arrival.
